Using social media as promotion / extension of the conference

This may not fit anywhere else. What to think about photos, video, sound from the actual event or a previous one. As posted to YouTube or other places. I work on a radio show and we gradually use more social media as well. We will promote a benefit show by Zion Train with video from other performances. I realise content marketing is not the only reason to share things, Creative Commons also important. But I mention this music aspect for comparison. I have found various views at conferences about video etc? What to think now? Is there a policy, even some resource? Also, could this fit with a symposium or workshop? I don’t think my situation can be represented as a paper but it might fit with something else.
